I called my lawyer and explained the situation. His only suggestion was to replace the windshield. I explained it couldn't have just "fell" a force needed to be applied in order to remove a layer of glass. Which was not the case as there was no issue with the windshield prior and it was cleaned with alcohol before putting the rearview mirror back on. He was very defensive and explained that I used the equivalent to Elmer's "glue" to fix it and that when I had fixed it prior that the glass had already been removed. I was upset and angry and asked to speak to the manager, explained to him what happened. I am in the waiting room when a customer service rep comes to me to inform me that by simply going to remove the tape that the mirror "fell" and removed a layer of glass with it. I'm at 56k miles and need fluids/ oil change so I go to a BMW dealership to check the warranty and get serviced. ![]() Now I had moved the mirror several times since then and used tape to hold the casing on in place until I had the time to seek a professional.įast forward 3-4 months to today. The only issue was once it settled it was a bit off center so the casing that covers the wiring wouldn't fit on properly. ![]() The body shop that fixed it charged $30 bucks. I avoided that since the windshield was in perfect condition. While driving I went to adjust it and it fell off, I went to a local body shop where a guy had fixed it by purchasing glue/adhesive from autozone.Įverything I read said it could be fixed with the glue and that BMW dealerships would suggest changing the windshield. I have an issue with the rearview mirror. I purchased a 2011 335i about 7 months ago. ![]()
